Good morning I hope you are all keeping well I just want to thank you for taking the time to read my blog and check out this simple recipe. Like everything practise makes perfect. Rotis are simple to make however in order to get a nice fluffy texture you will need to practice. Rotis are simply flatbread which is made from dough rolled out and cooked it a heavy pan. Roti is a popular food in the caribbean and is often served with curry. I enjoy having roti for breakfast and they are light delicious and fluffy.

Roti is a flat bread made from wholemeal wheat flour, its vegan and all you need are 3 ingredients 225g wholemeal wheat self raising flour, salt and 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  1. sieve the flour and salt into a large bowl slowly add in the oil and add in enough water to make a soft dough (start by adding 1-2 teaspoons and slowly build up). Add a little more flour if the dough feels too wet or sticky.
  2. Put the dough on a lightly covered surface and knead until smooth, then leave for 15-30 minutes.
  3. On a covered surface divide the dough into small circles roll each one out to be around 20cm.
  4. Heat a large heavy frying pan add a little oil, cook for 1-2 minutes until the roti starts to puff up flip over and cook for another minute.
